Schools Guide Autumn 2023 - Independent Schools Guide

In this issue

My daughter recently left home to study for six months in Japan. It is a brave move heading to a country where she only has a grasp of the language. I must admit that I am the one who is not feeling so brave, it is hard to let go, but this is the path she has chosen and I am so proud of her for taking the decision to leap into the unknown and follow her dream. It is an age old cliché but it only seems like yesterday that I let go of her hand as she walked through the gates of Leaden Hall (sadly the school is now closed). Many of you will be looking at a school for the first time or considering the next step. I hope this guide helps you with your choice, wherever you decide is the right place for your child. What I do know is that when you let go of their hand, there will be teachers who are ready to nurture, guide, enthuse, and open your child’s eyes to a world where they will learn and discover their own paths – just make sure you have a good supply of tissues.
