The Grapes on Bank Street, in Melksham is set to reopen on Thursday 10th August after a major investment of £238,000. The pub is part of Proper Pubs, the community wet-led operator division of Admiral Taverns, which has more than 165 pubs across England, Scotland, and Wales.
Behind the bar is community hero and passionate operator, Antoni Pearce, who has lived in the local area his whole life and has fantastic knowledge of the local community. Antoni has been able to spend time establishing strong relationships with fellow residents which will enable him to foster a friendly social hub for the Melksham community to enjoy.
Inside, the pub has undergone a complete transformation to create a brand-new look with fresh décor to appeal to the local community. With a complete interior redecoration, the pub will feature a brand-new bar, flooring, and furniture throughout. Outside, the terrace garden has been completely renovated with new lighting, heaters, and a canopy to create an inviting experience all year round.
For opening night, the pub will be celebrating with an action-packed weekend of live music as well as plenty of live sports for customers to enjoy.
The Grapes will be offering a wide range of drinks offers, including Wine Wednesday, where customers can get £2 off a bottle, Fizz Friday, offering customers a bottle of fizz for £10, along with cocktails, bottle and shot deals throughout the week.
Antoni Pearce, Operator of the Grapes is excited about the reopening, he said: “The pub looks fantastic, and I can’t believe the transformation. I’m really excited to get behind the bar, meet all our customers and support our local community. I will be starting off by collecting food for a local food bank, and donations to get a defibrillator installed.
“Pubs are the hub of their community, and I can’t wait to be the hub of Melksham”.
Not only will the pub be offering a wide range of drinks offers and entertainment, including quiz nights and live DJ sets, but it will also offer a full sports package, including Sky Sports, as well as Horse Racing. Additionally, the pub will be raising money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance, as well as raising money to have a lifesaving defibrillator installed at the Grapes.

Proper Pubs is always supporting its communities through an array of events and charity fundraising initiatives, from Christmas selection box collections to local food bank donations. Proper Pubs recently installed its 104th defibrillator across its estate through the help of fundraising from its locals.
