Could you bring festive cheer to an older person living in a care home by sending a Christmas card?

Care Home Volunteers in Swindon has launched their appeal for members of the public to send Christmas cards to residents in care homes.

During last years appeal, over 2500 cards were delivered to residents in care homes across Wiltshire and Swindon.

For many residents this will be the only card they receive from someone in the community this year. To be part of something that shows how much we care is really special and the cards, their kind words and warm wishes make a world of difference to the lives of these wonderful people.

People are asked to send cards by 6 December to Care Home Volunteers c/o First City House, Cheney Manor Industrial Estate, 114, Darby Close, Swindon, Wilts, SN2 2QG.

The cards can be addressed generally to the resident, or friend or just left blank.

During the restrictions to visitations brought into care homes by covid-19, Care Home Volunteers have written over 1500 cards to residents, taken part in virtual visits and fundraised to provide over 50 tablet devices to care homes so that residents can have virtual visits with their friends, families and Befrienders.
