March 2017 - Independent Schools Guide

In this issue

Taking part in sporting activities at schools can offer pupils the chance to learn many skills, broaden their horizons and have fun. So says the head of Sandroyd School in south Wiltshire. Milton Abbey School writes of their real life ‘Dragon Den’ where pupils get the chance to work on business ideas with a TV Dragon; exciting stuff that is relevant to today’s world of work. St Margaret’s School says we should bring out the performer in every child, while Meet the Head visits St Mary’s Calne, Sherborne and Monkton Combe.

From the editor

Not every child needs to have a performance career choice of drama or music in mind to take part, have fun and learn a lot. That’s the message from St Margaret’s Prep School. We need to bring out the performer in every child, which will enrich the lives of the pupils themselves, their family, the school and maybe even the wider community. Bravo! Sentiments I echo.
