Operaluna is delighted to present James Wilton Dance’s performance of The Storm, at Dauntsey's School Memorial Hall on 24 April 2019 at 7pm, kindly sponsored by Wansbroughs Solicitors.

Operaluna is a Wiltshire charity that supports and promotes the arts to local young people and is excited to bring one of the UK’s leading choreographers in contemporary dance to a Wiltshire audience. The evening will begin with a short curtain raiser by young students from Marlborough Academy of Dance and Drama and Dauntsey's School dance department. James Wilton will also coordinate dance workshops before the performance with students from 14 years upwards from Dauntsey’s School Dance Department and Marlborough Academy of Dance and Drama.
Cheryl Heustonof Marlborough Academy of Dance and Drama said “This is an amazing opportunity for our dance group, who will perform a seven minute dance routine at Dauntsey’s Memorial Hall that has been choreographed by James Wilton Dance and practised over the holidays. The curtain raiser gives young people the opportunity to perform in front of a new audience, helping to develop self- confidence and team building skills.”
James Wilton is a renowned choreographer in the UK, recognised for blending physical choreography with contemporary dance. Since forming his company, James
Wilton Dance has toured extensively both in the UK and internationally to critical acclaim, as well as winning numerous awards.James Wilton Dance’s The Stormis an entertaining, energetic and thought-provoking production on the topic of mental health and has already received glowing reviews. Featuring seven dancers, a specially composed score by Amarok / Michal Wojtas and scientific input from Dr David Belin, lecturer in behavioural neuroscience at Cambridge University, the performance runs for one hour and twenty minutes and there will be a short interval.
