If you’re new to family history research, or want to see what else is out there, join archivist Ally McConnell for a look at what the History Centre can offer and how best to research your family history. The talk will conclude with a tour of the searchroom.

Conservation Roadshow

Thursday August 10, 2pm-4pm

Talk to expert conservators to find out how to look after your precious family keepsakes, photographs and treasures.

Get advice on the best materials and techniques to care for your items at home and when to seek help from an expert.

If you have items in need of a little TLC the conservators may be able to give you tips for cleaning them without damage or a quote to get them repaired.

Public Art Project workshop with Julie Davis

A project to locate, record and photograph public art, namely artwork made by an artist, arts practitioner or craftsperson and located in publicly accessible spaces and places in Wiltshire. Public artworks are vulnerable to change, whether it be through environmental damage or vandalism, or through redevelopment of an area in or around it. At present very little is known about the whereabouts and extent of public art in the County.
