Royal biographer Penny Junor and actress Stephanie Cole will be among guest readers at Julia’s House Carols by Candlelight, at St John’s Church in Devizes on Tuesday, December 5 (not December 11, as advertised in the current issue of Wiltshire Life).

The magical evening of music and prose will include performances by Lyneham Military Wives and St Margaret’s Prep School choirs as well as plenty of traditional carols.

Tickets are on sale now and cost £15 for adults and £5 for under-12s. They will be available online at Juliashouse.org/carols17 or by calling the fundraising office on 01380 562525.

Stephanie Cole will be known to many as the actress who played Doc Martin’s aunt in the TV series starring Martin Clunes, who is a Patron of Julia’s House.

Money raised from the evening will be supporting the work of the charity, caring for families with life-limited children throughout the county.Julia’s House opened Wiltshire’s first children’s hospice in Devizes in May.

Doors open at 6.15pm for a 7pm start. Following the concert guests will be invited to stay and enjoy mulled wine and mince pies.
