England’s Great West Way picked up a prestigious award for the ‘Development of Incoming Group Visitors to the UK’, at the recent Group Travel Awards 2019 on Friday 7 June.

The South-West based tourism company, with a range of destinations throughout Wiltshire, was chosen as winner by the readers of GTO magazine and an editorial panel. In accepting the prestigious industry award Director David Andrews said:

“We are delighted... It is a fantastic reward for all the hard work our team, Great West Way Ambassadors, partner Destinations and international travel trade have put into creating one of the world’s premier touring routes between London and Bristol.”

Great West way is one of a number of successful projects to receive funding from the UK Government’s £40 million Discover England Fund, and this award seems to be a fantastic endorsement of the trust placed in the company.

Great West Way targets German, Dutch and North American visitors, aiming to show them the historical, natural and cultural delights of the South West. Wiltshire is a key part of the programmes they put together, as many of their customers visit the county on their journey west, the ancient countryside and beautiful towns a high point in their travels.
