Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire, Mrs. Sarah Rose Troughton, has appointed three new Deputy Lieutenants to serve the County of Wiltshire

Mrs Amanda Burnside is principal and chief executive of Wiltshire College and University Centre. She is a board director of the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SWLEP), vice chair of the Landex (the Association of Land Based Colleges) board, and a board member of both the National Land Based College and of Inspire, the Wessex Chambers of Commerce. She is active in promoting the skills agenda regionally and nationally. Mrs Burnside lives in Bradford on Avon.

Air Vice-Marshal David Couzens, a chartered engineer, read engineering at Churchill College Cambridge, and was commissioned into the Royal Air Force in 1968, retiring in 2004. Since then he has served as president of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a trustee of the RAF Benevolent Fund, on the Court of Imperial College and as a board member and trustee of the Engineering Council. Locally he was a governor at Forest and Sandridge School, a member of Melksham Team PCC and chairman of SSAFA Wiltshire. He is currently the vice president of SSAFA Wiltshire. The Air Vice-Marshal lives in Melksham.

Lady Lansdowne has run her own interior design business for 40 years. She lives and works at Bowood House in Calne and assists her husband, The Marquis of Lansdowne, in running the Heritage property and hotel. She is involved with many Wiltshire-based charities including Alzheimer’s Support, Wiltshire Sight, The Bobby Van Trust, and the League of Friends of Chippenham Hospital.

Mr. Troughton said: "I am delighted to appoint these three new Deputy Lieutenants. Their individual expertise and affection for the county will greatly enhance the work of the Lieutenancy in Wiltshire over the coming years.”
