The AA’s Pub Guide 2020, published today, has named its top Wiltshire pubs.

The AA guide, now in its 21st edition, features 15 Wiltshire pubs on its 550-strong ‘Pick of the Pubs’ shortlist. These 550 represent the cream of the crop for Britain’s pubs, with each one specially chosen by an AA inspector. Wiltshire’s strong result puts it in joint 9th place on the shortlist, tied with Suffolk.

The Wiltshire pubs featured in the ‘Pick of the Pubs’ are (in no particular order):

The Beckford Arms, Fonthill Gifford; The Tollgate Inn, Holt; The Bath Arms at Longleat, Horningsham; The Three Crowns, Brinkworth; Compasses Inn, Lower Chicksgrove; Royal Oak, Wootton Rivers; The Dove Inn, Corton; The Vine Tree, Malmesbury; The Forester, Donhead St Andrew; The George & Dragon, Rowde; Red Lion, East Chisenbury; The Bell at Ramsbury, Ramsbury; The Fox and Hounds, East Knoyle; The Silver Plough, Pitton; The Horseshoe, Ebbesbourne Wake.

The Pub Guide 2020 features 2,000 British pubs in total, and selects not only for quality of food and drink, but also for atmosphere and accommodation, covering inns, taverns and public houses alike. The guide is organised county by county, and features yearly updates and reader recommendations to ensure its information is accurate and up-to-date.
